STOP!

An URGENT PLEA to ALL MOVEMENT AND MINISTRY COLLEAGUES as well as THOSE IN THE BODY of BELIEVERS - in particular to THOSE WHO ARE LEADING AND TEACHING GOD’S SHEEP

This is the cry of our hearts to all our friends and ministry contacts that we have run with for decades. I am convinced that God allows things like scandals to shock us into a position of pause, of waiting before Him. This is to grieve, and then, to get His heart for how we should move forward.

THE SCANDAL

To our amazement, after the IHOPKC scandal that affected so many in this country and movements across the globe, most did not stop ministry or life - particularly those outside of the IHOPKC community. They did not pause to evaluate what happened, or why, nor even try to understand how we got here as a church. Most just pulled up their bootstraps and kept going in their lanes, their callings, their roles. It is with consternation and the fear of the Lord that we shout from the desert to all who have ears to hear, STOP! Just please STOP! In an effort to contend for the faith, and to snatch those who have simply gone about business like nothing has happened, we are urging you to STOP, WAIT and RESEARCH. All of this information is literally at your fingertips today, you just have to look.

My son, if you receive my words,
And treasure my commands within you,
So that you incline your ear to wisdom,
And apply your heart to understanding;
Yes, if you cry out for discernment,
And lift up your voice for understanding,
If you seek her as silver,
And search for her as for hidden treasures;

A WAKE UP CALL

IHOPKC is a wake up call, not only for those that have been a part of the organization or affiliated with it in any way, but for the entire global church. Yet, we continue to act like nothing has happened. How can this be? This organization, for good and bad, birthed prayer movements across the globe. However, ministry leaders (and those attending and participating in courses, church services, IHOPU and beyond) have simply pulled themselves out - moving on to business elsewhere - somehow thinking that they were not tainted by the tentacles of IHOPKC theology, systems and culture. THIS IS JUST NOT THE CASE!

BAD FRUIT

Currently, IHOPKC still continues in a much smaller form in Grandview, MO. Unfortunately, the dangerous fruit of IHOPKC stemming from its unholy foundation of alleged “prophecy” continues to be perpetuated through people, knowingly and unknowingly, throughout the globe. We are urging you, our ministry partners, our colleagues and our friends - STOP MOVING! God does not need you or your ministry more than He wants your heart and for you to operate in truth, HIS TRUTH. God can remove you and I from this planet, along with our ministries and still accomplish His purposes. It is His story, it is His planet and we are His. He doesn’t need us to finish the task, He wants our hearts. He wants us to love Him with ALL of our hearts, souls, minds and strength. EVERYTHING else is secondary. We are just not that important. He is.

OH, HOW HE SPEAKS IN THE DESERT

One of the most important questions God asked Barb and I in the desert, and gnawed away at us until we could actually answer was, “Is it possible that we have inadvertently been helping to build a kingdom that was not His?” He was laying the axe to the root, and we roared in pain and anguish as we finally came to the conclusion that the answer was YES! We were culpable! We were on the hook. Through a long period of repentance and the inevitable question of “How could this be?,” we were repeatedly led to look back in order to see the present and beyond. What we found were a lot of weeds and rotten fruit that had grown amidst otherwise strong roots and good, healthy, Biblical fruit. We could clearly see that there was now a mix. We set out on the arduous journey to restore our fruit to its healthy, biblical state, through GOD’s help and healing, grace and mercy.

ANOTHER GOSPEL

We are imploring you to STOP and to do the same. We are urging you to watch our podcast. Though the title states, “Leaving IHOPKC,” this is only a small portion of the content. You may be one who is actively involved in “Great Commission” work around the globe, but as words seem to be getting new definitions these days, what does the “Great Commission" actually mean? When we talk of preaching the gospel to all nations, is it actually the gospel that is being preached? I’m sorry to have to ask this question, but what is the gospel, friends? I must ask you the same question that we were asked in the desert - Is it possible that you are inadvertently building a kingdom for the wrong king?

CONTENDING FOR THE FAITH

We are posting this video in the hope that you will watch it in its entirety. As we began to detangle all that has happened at IHOPKC and to us specifically, we discovered more than we bargained for the deeper we searched and the longer we sat with the LORD. He showed us that there is something terribly wrong with the church. This revelation and understanding - what the problem is exactly and how we can position ourselves to begin to understand and to fix it - will be lost entirely and completely if we keep running. The scandal brought us all pretty close to the edge of a cliff AND YET MANY keep moving forward ignoring the very real, and increasing danger, in front of us. It is our position that IHOPKC is just the tip of the iceberg of an apostasy so large as to be seen from space, yet seemingly invisible to the naked eye - to us all. We plead with you to simply stop and listen. Wait on the LORD and let Him speak through His Word. The future of a global Church that truly reflects the GOD of the Bible and His SON demands it.
