What We Believe

• The Bible Is the Word of God
  We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative, and trustworthy Word of God and the final standard for Christian faith, doctrine, and practice (2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21).

• We Take Scripture Seriously and Literally
  We believe Scripture should be understood according to its plain and intended meaning, taking it literally wherever the literary, historical, and grammatical context allows. We recognize that the Bible contains poetry, symbolism, parables, prophecy, and figures of speech, and we interpret these according to their context rather than imposing meanings upon the text (Nehemiah 8:8; 2 Timothy 2:15).

• One Godhead
  We believe in one eternal God, revealed in Scripture as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—three Persons, yet one God (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14).

• Jesus Christ Is Fully God and Fully Man
  We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who came in the flesh. He was and remains truly God and truly man—not partly God and partly man, but fully divine and fully human (John 1:1, 14; Colossians 2:9; Philippians 2:5–8).

• Jesus Lived as God and Man
  We believe Jesus lived a genuine human life while never ceasing to be God. He experienced human weakness, temptation, suffering, and death, yet remained completely without sin (Hebrews 2:14–18; 4:15; 1 Peter 2:22).

• Jesus Died and Rose as God and Man
  We believe Jesus Christ died bodily on the cross for our sins, was buried, and physically rose from the dead. The One who rose from the grave is the same Jesus—fully God and fully man—and He remains the incarnate Son of God forever (Luke 24:39; John 20:27–28; 1 Corinthians 15:3–8; 1 Timothy 2:5).

• Salvation Is Found in Jesus Christ Alone
  We believe salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone. Humanity cannot earn salvation through works, religious performance, spiritual experiences, or personal righteousness. We are saved by God's grace through faith in Christ and His finished work on the cross (John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Ephesians 2:8–9; Titus 3:5).

• Christ's Work Is Sufficient
  We believe Jesus' sacrifice was once for all and completely sufficient for our redemption. Nothing needs to be added to His finished work, and no human effort can complete what Christ has already accomplished (John 19:30; Hebrews 10:10–14).

• Repentance and Faith
  We believe the Gospel calls every person to repent and believe in Jesus Christ. Those who place their faith in Him are forgiven, justified, reconciled to God, and given eternal life (Mark 1:15; Acts 2:38; Romans 5:1; 10:9–10).

• The Gifts of the Holy Spirit

       We do not believe the Church needed, or currently has need for a movement to “restore” what Christ has already given. The gifts and         workings of the Holy Spirit described in the New Testament have always been available and remain available to the Church today—             not because the Restoration Movement, the Charismatic Movement, or any modern movement recovered them, but because Christ             accomplished His redemptive work at the cross and poured out His Spirit at Pentecost.

 

       A necessary clarification: Affirming the continuing work and gifts of the Holy Spirit does not mean affirming any false manifestation             attributed to the Spirit. It certainly does not require us to accept the unbiblical teachings, excesses, or false manifestations we are               examining in the Restoration Movement. ​

• The Holy Spirit Glorifies Jesus Christ
  We believe genuine ministry of the Holy Spirit points people toward Jesus Christ, produces holiness and the fruit of the Spirit, and conforms believers to Christ rather than exalting personalities, experiences, power, or spiritual status (John 16:13–14; Galatians 5:22–23).

• The Gospel Is About What Christ Has Done
  We believe Christianity begins and ends with Jesus Christ—not humanity's attempt to ascend to God, achieve spiritual greatness, or perfect itself. Our hope rests in God's grace and Christ's finished work, not in our ability to transform or redeem ourselves (Romans 3:23–26; Galatians 2:20–21; Philippians 2:5–11).

• Jesus Christ Will Return
  We believe Jesus Christ will personally and bodily return, the dead will be raised, and God will bring His redemptive purposes to their appointed fulfillment. Our hope is ultimately in His return and His resurrection power, not in humanity's ability to create the Kingdom of God on earth (Acts 1:9–11; 1 Corinthians 15:20–26, 50–55; 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18).
